Shawn Klosterman is the  founder of the Killer
Whales.  Shawn spent his youth training with the
Viking Swim Club in Petersburg, Alaska, and the
South Snohomish County Dolphins in Everett,
WA.  Shawn attended Southwest Missouri State
University as a Breaststroke and IM specialist,
and graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor in Ed.
Degree with K-12 Certification in Physical
Education.  Shawn is the Aquatics Director for the
Webb City R-VII School District and teaches
K-12 Swimming classes as well as coaching the
Boys and Girls Varsity Cardinals.  Coach K is
obsessed with super-heroes, which explains a lot
about this website.
Angela Kearbey is the Head Age Group Coach
for the Killer Whales. Angela's patience and ability
to motivate our swimmers in positive ways is an
important part of what makes our program so
Jared Jeffries was one of our first Killer Whale
competitors and has returned to head our Senior
group.  Jared was a multiple MSHSAA state
qualifier for WCHS and was also a member of the
JCKW Sectional team in 2003, when we had our
highest Sectional finish ever.  Jared is passing on
tremendous knowledge to those in his groups who
strive for success.
Kathy Mendez is in charge of our PREP
 She is also the Head Coach for the
Joplin Stingrays summer swim team.   Kathy
swam at Junior Nationals and set Oklahoma LSC
 records  while a member of the Kerr-McGee
Swim Club
(Chesapeake Swim Team) in
Oklahoma City.
